Hi there, and welcome back!
In my journey as a writer, there’s something uniquely magical about creating stories for children. The wonder, the innocence, the playful adventures—it’s a world where anything is possible. Today, I want to share the inspiration behind my children’s books and why I believe stories like these are so important for young minds.
A Goat Named Scout: Where Adventure Began
My inspiration for writing children's books started in a rather unexpected place—a goat. Yes, you read that right! It all started with a real-life goat named Scout, who had an uncanny ability to find trouble. From getting into mischief on the farm to bringing joy and laughter to everyone around, Scout’s adventures sparked the idea for the "Goat on the Go" series. Scout the goat became more than just an animal on a farm—he became the perfect character to teach kids about curiosity, mischief, and how even the most chaotic days can be filled with lessons and laughter.
Why I Write for Kids: More Than Just Fun
Writing for children is about more than just creating fun stories—it’s about teaching valuable lessons in a way that captures their imagination. The goal isn’t just to entertain, but to encourage exploration, empathy, and resilience. Through Scout’s playful antics and the whimsical worlds I create, I want young readers to experience:
Stories Rooted in Love and Learning
Each book I write is grounded in the belief that storytelling has the power to nurture, challenge, and connect. Whether it’s a tale about a mischievous goat, a lesson about friendship, or a story of overcoming obstacles, I aim to provide children with stories that feel both magical and meaningful.
I believe stories like these help children build their emotional intelligence by allowing them to see themselves in the characters, understand different perspectives, and learn the importance of kindness, courage, and perseverance.
"Goat on the Go" and Beyond: What’s Next?
The "Goat on the Go" series is just the beginning. It’s been such a joy to craft Scout’s adventures, and I’m excited to bring even more characters and stories to life. Each new book will continue to explore fun, valuable lessons, and, of course, the excitement of unexpected adventures.
But beyond the stories, I want to share a deeper message: every child has the potential to explore, grow, and find joy in the little things. It’s this belief that fuels my passion for writing. I’m committed to creating books that inspire both kids and the adults who read with them. Stories can shape a child’s world—and I’m here to be part of that journey.
